Opal (Lux #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout| Review

Might include slight spoilers!! I recommend reading the first Book one and Book two of the series first.

opalMount Weather is the place where all secrets of the DOD and Daedalus are kept. Deadulus, a part of the DOD, is testing and torturing hybrids and Luxen and seem to have their implants everywhere. A loved one is still in Daedalus’ clutches and has to be freed. “The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies ”. There is definitely a lot going on in Opal.

Katy and Daemon develop fast throughout this book. And so does their relationship. They have to learn how to fight and are confronted with constant obstacles. But they pull through and everything turns out for the better.. almost. In the last moment (huge cliffhanger here!) things turn bad for our favourite couple.

Katy – the shy, book loving Katy- is growing up and develops much as the series continues. In the last books she showed that there is more to her than meets the eye. She will fight for the ones she loves, but more because of the necessity of the situation. Now, she is willing to put herself at risk, planning, plotting, training. She (and the others) will do everything to get someone dear out of Daedalus’ hold. She is brave, strong and grows beyond her limitations and fears.

The relationship between Daemon and Katy is strong and I could feel their love for each other. My heart pounded for them as they met new obstacles and had to face horrible things the enemy was throwing at them, especially Katy. There was a constant foreboding feeling when reading Opal and it really didn’t disappoint at the end. Of course we have a HUGE cliffhanger at the end that urges us to pick up the next book of the series immediately.

I am reading the whole series currently, book after book. Sometimes it is hard not to compare this book with the last. And even though there is a lot happening in Opal, it is not as action packed as the last one but it is still a great book.

Hey there! My name is Klara and I love reading and to share my thoughts about the things I read. I know how hard it can be to choose your next read. So I realized that I should start my own Blog not only tell the people out there what new literature is worth taking a look at. But also what other books are out there and have been long forgotten ;))
